The Shot: Belvedere’s listening lounge at Coachella

Belvedere’s pool party drew in early revelers to the Bermuda Dunes listening lounge on Friday. Junior Sanchez spun, and Cut Copy dropped by to play some mini golf at the Spanish-style hacienda. Not a bad way to kick off the weekend. For more pool party photos, read on.

Okay. Time to get serious for a moment. On March 31st, San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow had attended the Giants vs. Dodgers baseball game at the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium. After the game, he was brutally attacked by 2 Dodgers fans and hospitalized. The attack was unprovoked. He is suffering brain damage. Today, he remains in a medically induced coma so that his brain can heal.
I do not know Bryan Stow personally, but we are connected. We are both Giants fans. You are connected to him as well. He is another human being.

If you aren't aware, the rivalry between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the MLB is one of the biggest there is. However, the playing field is where it should end. I am all for fun and a bit of name calling, but the line needs to be drawn somewhere. Physically attacking others purely based on who you root for is inhumane.
Perhaps one of the most ironic and saddest bits of this case is the fact that Bryan Stow is a paramedic. His passion is to save the life of others. Now, because of 2 immature thugs, his life hangs by a thread. I can't fathom what his family is going through and the medical bills they are facing in the near future. I personally have already donated some money but if you haven't, you still can.

On May 5th, Pasta Pomodoro in San Francisco will be donating 20% of your bill (dine in as well as to go orders) to the Bryan Stow Fund
If you aren't located in San Francisco but would like to make a donation, you can do so here
SFPCU is deeply saddened by the tragic event that took place on March 31st, and we send our well wishes to Bryan Stow, his family and friends. Bryan Stow is a Santa Clara County AMR Paramedic who is currently in a medically induced coma after being assaulted at a Giants-Dodgers game in Los Angeles, CA. A support fund has been set up at the SF Police Credit Union for Bryan Stow by his family.

Casa Batlló s a building restored by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1904–1906; located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia. The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), and indeed it does have a visceral, skeletal organic quality. It was originally designed for a middle-class family and situated in a prosperous district of Barcelona.
