Hello, May.

A little Sunday brunch at the Ferry Building in San Francisco
an open faced grilled cheese sandwich with mustard, caramelized onions and pickled carrots from Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick - I had a bad stomachache from this. It's HELLA greasy.
 with Sophia & Serena

After Sophia took off, Serena and I took a long walk to downtown San Francisco. We heard "untz untz untz" and thought a rave of some sorts was going on in the streets. Turned out it was the annual How Weird Street Faire. Was kind of gross since there was a bunch of nudity, drugs, booze, babies/small children and animals.
I normally don't mind these crazy street fair things and I am a San Franciscan. Seeing weird shit doesn't really phaze me anymore. (I mean come on, we have the Folsom Street Fair. If you don't know what that is, don't Google it. I'll spare you the details but it's a ton of leather, chaps, and penises)
The thing that pisses me off about shit like How Weird Street Faire are the irresponsible people who bring their babies/toddlers/young children/pets.
First of all, dogs & cats have hearing that is much more sensitive than us humans. You know how terrified many pets get during July 4th fireworks? Yea, because the sound is amplified x10w4758902373 for them. Subjecting them to music at such loud decibels around people who are drunk or under the influence is so dangerous!!!! Their hearing is getting damaged all the way you are putting them in harms way. Anyone can step on your pet or injure them. Same goes for children.
I'm not trying to be a party pooper. I have had my fair share of marijuana, drugs, raves, booze, etc but I made that decision on my own. Don't subject your children to this kind of stuff. Let them make that choice on their own and be responsible people. Your children and pets ARE NOT ACCESSORIES.
I'm just saying.
 Bay Bridge
 Thanks Sophia!

Have any of you been to the Ferry Building? If yes, what's your favorite spot inside and why?
I think my favorite spot in there is Hog Island. I love love love their Kumamoto oysters and their clam chowder.
P.S. For those that asked previous and via Twitter - yes I will blog about my experience with Lasik =]

Let Me Kick You Off Your Pedestal

Let me make this fucking clear. We're all bloggers on here, yea? We're all people, yeah? The majority of us are not actual celebrities/celebutantes whatever you want to call it.
I'm not a very well-known blogger. I have actually ceased my "beauty blogging" because to be quite frank, I can't keep up with it. I don't have tons of money to constantly spend on cosmetics, jewelry and fashion. Therefore, I don't put up reviews, swatches, tutorials, FOTDs, etc. From time to time I just post photos of how I spent my month. It's quite mundane, nothing special or too interesting.

HOWEVER

For those bloggers that are well-known , that DO have a huge following, let me just fucking remind you that you're just a regular everyday person like me.

So when a reader of yours spots you in public and says they love your blog/style/fashion/tips etc, do not roll your eyes. Be appreciative.

Get over yourself you snotty twat.

If you're wondering why I'm saying this... Why yes, I have had an encounter like this before (I will not name who it was). Being snubbed does hurt. If you're going to snub your readers then you are nothing but a vain materialistic narcissistic ugly person. That's all you are.

To counter all this, I did bump into Rumi Neely at Coachella. For the record, she was quite lovely and friendly. All smiles.

hard to be soft, tough to be tender

I've fallen behind on the October Photoblog Challenge. My apologies. I got caught up in a gangload of emotions Thursday night that tumbled into Friday night... I'm not going to lie. I'm going to be 100% honest here. I come off happy in my relationship but these past couple months have gotten ROUGH. I've got all these thoughts.. memories.. thoughts.. swirling around in my head. I wish I had a pensieve (dorky Harry Potter talk) It's like I can't fulfill my emotional needs but that is in part to being a long-distance relationship. He and I talk on the phone every single night and every now and then we webcam. It's not quite the same.
I think many people take for granted the simplest things they do with their significant others. I yearn to be able to even just go grocery shopping with my boyfriend, cooking a meal together, watch a movie, RENT a movie, maybe even play video games together? It's not as if I can call him up and say "Hey, want to go watch such and such movie? Okay, i'll be over in 20 minutes." I have to plan things weeks, months in advance. We plan out our time together a couple weeks in advance. There are so many things we say we want to do together or we will do together... but that list keeps growing.
I gave myself a personal deadline and hopefully, I will meet it. *sigh*
We nearly broke up this past weekend. On Friday, I sat at work all day with my flight itinerary in the background on my computer debating if I should check in for my flight or cancel it. Right as I was about to click "cancel" I decided to give "us" more of a chance. He wanted to talk in person. Even when I got to SFO, I was apprehensive about boarding my flight.  Alright, enough about my personal life.. Here comes the preaching.
You see, the thing about relationships is that you've got to TALK. I'm not talking about just exchanging words, I mean FROM THE HEART.  If you're that close to your significant other, COMMUNICATE. Just because you see each other often doesn't mean you can't have heart to hearts. Many issues can be resolved by first bringing them to surface, addressing it, and DISCUSSING. Pour your heart. Pour your soul. This is real motherfucking TALK (phrase courtesy of xppink) right here, alright?

Day 3 + 5 & #imjustsaying

October Photoblog Challenge

Sorry, I am skipping out on day 4. I prefer to keep my job private. There are many aspects of my life I am willing to share with you, but I feel certain things should remain undisclosed.  Those of you who do know what I do, I would appreciate if you keep that private. Thank you for respecting my wishes.. And for those of you still nosy, yeah sure i'm a $2 hooka!

Day 3: Something I Bought Today
I was bad and had McDonalds for lunch. Yes, I know it's bad for me. Yes, I know how the food is made. I was scheduled for a 1pm lunch today and by 12:30pm I was ready to chew my own arm off. Ping can attest to this, she gchat messaged me. My status was something like: starving & not happy about it. I really wasn't happy about it. I had been noshing on granola all morning and it just wasn't cuttin' it. The closest thing to my work (besides the cafe in our building which doesn't sell anything I would consider as food) is McDonalds. I didn't want to wait long or walk too far (with my heels on) so I wound up there. I had the Angus Mushroom Swiss burger meal. I didn't even finish the burger. I ate about half, then picked out all the mushrooms. I didn't even eat half of my fries... and I barely touched the soda. So much for starving eh? Oh well.

Day 5: What's In My Bag
Pretty unprofessional for me to use this for work but i've stopped caring. Carried my Angry Little Girls tote today! It says "Love Is Friendship Set On Fire" I am a fan of Lela Lee's work. If you haven't checked her out yet, please do so here: Angry Little Girls I always have my Betseyville Betsey Johnson makeup bag with me, Marc by Marc Jacobs wallet, 16gb ipod touch (the 2nd gen), my keys on a Marc by Marc Jacobs keychain, a mini bite sized Snickers Jocelyn gave me for lunch one day, and my Urban Decay makeup palette. I normally don't carry that thing around with me but Jocelyn gave me a lift to work. She got to my pad before I was completely ready so I just tossed that thing in my bag and did my face up at work.

There you have it. I hope the voyeur in all of you is pleased!

  • Day 31: Something that always makes you smile
OH! Something off topic. I had dinner with Sophia last week and we were talking about dating, girls (in general) and approachability. I mentioned how people usually tell me I look "angry" and "bitchy" all the time but they have told me that once they know me, I am not as intimidating as I appeared to be. Why the fuck is that? I'm really a pretty open person UNTIL you do me wrong. I am a true Scorpio through and through, I will sting yo ass like a mofo. I'm "angry" looking apparently because I don't walk around smiling. I'm sorry, but i'd be concerned if I was walking down the street and someone was coming toward me with a beaming smile on their face. I'd deem them clinically insane (there's tons of them in San Francisco, you never know..especially in the area I work at. Tons of crackheads!). Anyway. I've noticed that people give me a lot of shit for this. I discussed this with Sophia and another girlfriend of mine. It seems like us ladies who wear makeup (i'm talkin full face, not those of us who just wear eyeliner on a daily basis) tend to be labeled as "bitchy" and "unapproachable." What? So I wear tons of black eyeliner. That constitutes me as a bitch? I'm not going to write you off just like that! Geez.  So I powder my eyebrows in, wear eyeshadow, eyeliner and blush on a daily basis. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm not as friendly as the homely looking girl next door. I'm not always the bitch down the street...
